罢丑别听department of physics and astronomy聽at 51黑料网 congratulates Alex Chin 鈥�17 on receiving the 2026 GCCM National Award from the American Physical Society (APS) for exceptional dissertation research.
Chin, who is an , credits Geneseo for launching his research career.
鈥淒r. Padalino has cultivated a strong pipeline between LLE and 51黑料网 for many years,鈥� said Chin. 鈥淚 was given the opportunity to work at LLE at the end of my senior year, and it was the research conducted that summer that led me to pursue a PhD in high-energy density physics.鈥�
鈥淎lex is one of many success stories to come out of our department,鈥� said Stephen Padalino, Distinguished Teaching Professor of聽Physics. 鈥淚t鈥檚 especially gratifying to note that two of his mentors at the University of Rochester鈥檚 LLE鈥擠anae Polsin 鈥�13 and Michelle Marshal 鈥�11 are also Geneseo alumni.”
